Lavalle Stadium Expansion at Stony Brook University

Continuing the long standing relationship that Fortunato has with the University dating back to the 1950’s we were selected to construct the North Stadium Addition. As the Division 1 Athletic programs continue to develop at the University the needs to support the public and the fans continue. This particular project consists of the excavation of the North End Zone stadium bowl and construction of the concrete structure and the seats and safety rails required for the addition of 2,000 seats to the stadium. Included in this project is a full-service kitchen/concession stand and toilet rest room facilities to support the additional public to the stadium. Part of the coordination of this construction took place during the Football and Lacrosse seasons without interruption to the athletic program for the men’s and women’s teams as well as hosting a segment of the NCAA playoffs. This project was carefully coordinated and “fast-tracked” to accommodate the needed seating areas targeted to be complete for the May 2017 graduation ceremonies, which the Fortunato Team completed on time and on budget.
