National Weather Service Northeast Headquarters
Project consists of a complete gut renovation of existing tenant office and meeting space. Reconstruction and reconfiguration of the space required to accommodate regional meetings and facilities management offices to support operations. Work included demolition to the “bones” of the building, new electric service systems with back-up capabilities, HVAC and fire protection systems, construction of a reinforced Ready Room capable of supporting a 24/7 operational status during severe weather and storms, reconstruction of the Server areas, and the regional operations center area for forecasting the eastern seaboard weather, gypsum board wall construction, doors, frames, hardware, firestopping, flooring both carpeting and hard LVT tiles, acoustic tile ceilings, ceramic tile work, architectural millwork and carpentry, painting, anti-static raised computer flooring, and finishing of all spaces. As part of the construction the facility had to be brought up to modern telecommunications and data standards as well as mandated security and surveillance systems. These two projects included closely working with and coordinating efforts with Washington, D.C. and New York City representatives.
